Rotary Gavel Exchange, June 17, 2026
The Gavel Exchange is a longtime Rotary tradition that sees the outgoing club president symbolically hand the gavel to the incoming club president. Outgoing president, Mils Farmus, handed the gavel to Jen Johnson, who is a longtime Rotarian and active member of the community. Helping in the celebration was Assistant District Governor, Kenton Acton, who is looking forward to working with Jen on future club projects. The event also included recognition of the work Doug Sowerby of SDBI Complete Maintenance has done for the Rotary Club of Markdale. His help has been invaluable to the success of the many events Rotary Club hosts each year.
